The Priory Chapel is the spiritual heart of the campus. The monastic community holds daily prayers and services here, and the whole school community gathers in the Chapel once a week for song, prayer, campus news, and to listen to profound speakers. The space is open throughout the school day for students, faculty, and staff to pray and meditate. It is where good news is celebrated and sad news is faced together. (Following the 9-11 tragedy, an alumnus at college in New York City flew home to be in the Priory chapel.)
Religious Services on the Campus
Mass
The Benedictine monks celebrate mass daily at 7:15 a.m. and 9:30a.m. on Sundays. The whole school celebrates mass on selected days during the school year as well.
Chapel Service
All students, faculty, and staff gather in the Chapel once a week. During Chapel, a community member shares a life story about a personal passion and/or lesson learned. The community sings and prays together throughout the time. Students from the Music Ministry Team lead the opening song while other students often perform the reflection song. The Campus Ministry team works with the monks and student Retreat Team in planning school Chapel services.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Students who wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation may make an appointment with one of the Benedictine priests.
