Woodside Priory School is an independent Catholic Benedictine college preparatory school. Our mission is to assist all students in creating meaningful and balanced lives, developing as lifelong learners and stewards, and productively serving a world in need of their gifts.
Founded in 1957, Woodside Priory has always housed an exciting boarding option for grades 9-12. Today, many of our day students enter as sixth graders, graduating after seven life-changing years at the Priory.
The friends that I sat with on graduation day on the Fr. Christopher field some 16 years ago are still my friends today and will be my friends for life. They are impossible to replace. People that I've been able to turn to in troubled times. People that have given me inspiration, and with whom I've shared so many memorable experiences.
Even more than academics, we wanted our children to know who they are and have the time to explore themselves. During the admissions process, Priory convinced us they felt the same way. Still, when our family joined the community, we experienced Priory's commitment and approach beyond our expectations.
Priory is my home away from home. Even across classes, grades, and sports teams, the feelings of inclusivity and community are always present, allowing me to be myself at all times.
Throughout my middle and high school years, countless Priory faculty and staff members were always there for me. Perhaps more remarkably, they have continued to offer guidance, celebrate my accomplishments, and whole-heartedly support me in the decade since.
As we have learned how to reorganize our lives into a new normal, each day often presents us with a new set of challenges. We are all lucky to be here, on Earth, in this wonderful community. We could call this type of change and rebirth - awareness and reflection - awareflectness.
Every day I learn new ideas that reinforce who I am. I learn about our true meaning and how we can show mercy and love to all. I've learned more about myself here because Priory reinforces learning and growth.
